The Central Railway services in Thane’s suburbs get paralyzed as the power grid supply went kaput on Tuesday. Twenty-five suburban train services were cancelled, that resulted in overcrowding in trains leading to one fatality. A person falls off a train near Mumbra while another was reported to be injured.
According to CR sources, “The problem continued from 7.30am to 8.10am north of Diva because which suburban and long distance train services were delayed.”
The power breakdown compelled several mail express and local trains to be regulated at stations beyond Kalyan towards Karjat and Kasara.
Though the breakdown was repaired in 30 minutes, it was sufficient to upset the peak morning hour traffic. Some suburban train services were cancelled while others were witnessing 45 minutes behind schedule till afternoon, rued daily travelers.
