Mumbai records a dismal 5 % voter turnout till 11 am

Mumbai which accounts for 36 seats out of the 288 Assembly Seats that went to polls in Maharashtra on Wednesday morning had a dismal voter turnout of only 5 % till 10.30 am.

Pool booths were empty with polling officers waiting for voters to come and cast their vote. Remarks A Pardeshi an election observer from Eastern suburbs, “As compared to the Lok Sabha polls which took place 5 months  this is very low. We had people queuing up from as early as 6.30 am during the Lok Sabha elections, whereas our booths were empty till 10.30 am today.”
