Finally there is something that the Congress party has given to former Maharashtra chief Minister Narayan Rane. A day after the Election Commission announced the by election programme of Bandra (E) constituency, the Congress party has announced Narayan Rane’s name as the party’s candidate.
Says Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam, “The party has asked the consent of Narayan Rane, and if he says yes than we will take up his name to party high command.” Rane had joined congress more than a decade ago and was also assured to be CM of the state.
However that did not happen, apparently Rane had protested and revolted against the party’s decision. According to sources former Mumbai president Kripashankar Singh’s son Sanjay and former minister of state Baba Siddiqui are also trying hard to get a ticket for themselves.
