New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi today charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi with "single-handed" destruction of the economy, pointing to the 2016 demonetisation. The country has never recovered from it, he said at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan, where the party is conducting the rally Bharat Bachao (Save India)-its mega protest on a range of issues, including the state of the economy, the amended Citizenship Act, the suffering of farmers and employment. "Narendra Modi ji came and banned 500 and 1000 rupee notes … you were all fooled by saying that this was done to remove black money … but what happened? The economy couldn't recover from it until today,"  Gandhi said, addressing the crowds.
