It is Nirbhaya reenacted! A 30-year-old woman was gangraped and with similar ferocity that shook the nation in 2012, when Nirbhaya was gangraped and savagely killed; she too met the Nirbhaya’s fate and tortured to death in Uttar Pradesh’s Mohanlalganj late on Friday evening. Her body was found in a pool of blood – 20-minutes away from her house.

 

The police official said she had been abducted prior to this horrendous incident. The exact cause for such beastly act was not yet ascertained by the police, which are investigating into the case with utmost precision.Post rape her body was mutilated. The police said she had been subjected to extreme sexual torture prior to killing her.

 

Meanwhile, the obstreperous Chief Minister of UP, Akhilesh Yadav, seems to have adopted a typical bureaucratic posture, retorted, “Media has become obsessed with rape. Why can’t they look beyond Uttar Pradesh?” The insensitivity of the CM has shocked the nation.

 

 The CM has, however, announced the appointment of a new DG to arrest the soaring incidents of rape and murder, which is seen as a damage control exercise by the opposition.
