NSG, NIA to probe Patna blasts

Minister of State for Home R.P.N. Singh said Sunday that teams of the National Security Guards (NSG) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) were being rushed to Patna to investigate the bomb blasts in the Bihar capital.
Terming the blasts "unfortunate," the minister told reporters: "The home ministry has decided to rush NSG and NIA teams to Bihar to inquire into the whole blast sequence".
"They were low intensity bomb blasts," he said.
The minister also assured the Bihar government of all help from the centre in the probe.
"We are in constant touch with Bihar authorities, who are updating us on the situation," he said.
R.P.N. Singh said the government did not have any particular intelligence input about the blasts of Sunday, although such unfortunate incidents are "expected" around the time of major festivals.
He urged political parties not to "politicise" the blasts, which occurred just before BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was to address a rally in Patna.
