Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh was the first to greet the Governor of Maharashtra K. Sankaranarayanan over the telephone on Tuesday (15th Oct) on the occasion of the Governor’s 82nd birthday.

 

Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan who was travelling also called up to greet the Governor.

 

Former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, Ministers Chhagan Bhujbal, Narayan Rane, Suresh Shetty, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Vinod Tawade, Shiv Sena leader Diwakar Raote, Anant Tare, Madhav Bhandari, Vice Chancellors Vasudha Kamat and Uma Vaidya, industry leaders and people from various walks of life met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and greeted him on his birthday.
