PM meets infrastructure departments secretaries

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday met secretaries of key infrastructure ministries like power and road and highways to review individual sectors' development targets that need to be achieved by the current fiscal end.
Among the other ministries present were shipping, civil aviation, oil and gas and telecom. Infrastructure development through public private partnership (PPP) mode is among the top of agenda for the new government, to attract investment and generate employment.
However, key infrastructure projects like roads and power utilities are currently stuck due to clearance hurdles and other legal issues. This has driven development cost and build up non-performing assets for banks.
The new government wants to iron out these bottlenecks for the infrastructure development to gain momentum and attract investment.
