PM travels by Metro

By ME Bureau

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today travelled by the Delhi Metro from Dhaula Kuan in south west Delhi to Dwarka in west Delhi.

The PM, accompanied by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, was on his way to inaugurate the National Intelligence Academy. This is the first time PM Modi has travelled using the Delhi Metro.

Sources said the PM took the Metro to avoid inconvenience to the public on the route because of security arrangements. The Metro ride from Dhaula Kuan to Dwarka lasted 12 minutes. "Sreedharan ji would always tell me to experience the Delhi Metro. Today I had the opportunity to do so on the way to Dwarka," the PM tweeted after the ride.

E Sreedharan is the former chief of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and is popularly known as 'Metro man'. The PM also tweeted to say that he "really enjoyed the ride."
