Rains drench Raigad, rivers touch danger levels

Uninterrupted showers since Saturday evening have completely soaked the Raigad district, bringing life to a standstill. Rivers are swollen and even found overflowing at certain places in the district since Sunday morning.

Alibaug, Pen, Pali, Karjat, Khalapur too witnessed heavy downpour since Saturday. Rivers Patalganga , Savitri, Kundalika have crossed their danger levels.

The department has sounded alert to the citizens staying in coastal regions here. Traffic flow in the Mumbai –Pune express way has been severely affected due to this. Low lying areas of Khopoli, Shilphata and others too witnessed acute water logging with drain waters gushing out flooding the streets.
