Rajasthan suspends IPS officer arrested for bribery
An IPS officer in Rajasthan, arrested earlier this week on charges of taking a bribe, was suspended by the state government Friday, officials said.

Indian Police Service officer, Satyaveer Singh, posted as superintendent of police in Kota city, some 250 km from Jaipur, was arrested by the state police's anti-corruption bureau (ACB) May 27.

"Singh used a woman and her husband as mediators to get bribes for him. The couple was caught red-handed taking bribe of Rs.50,000 for the IPS officer and arrested," said an ACB officer.

An official from the state's personnel department officer said that the IPS officer was suspended Friday.
