Rajeev Dhavan sacked from

New Delhi: Senior lawyer Rajeev Dhavan, who appeared in the landmark Ayodhya temple-mosque case for Muslim petitioners, posted today on Facebook that the group Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind had unceremoniously sacked him for reasons he described as "total nonsense." Yesterday, the Jamiat had filed a petition asking the Supreme Court to review last month's ruling on the decades-old conflict over the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri mosque. "Just been sacked from the Babri case by Advocate-on-record Ejaz Maqbool who was representing the Jamiat. Have sent formal letter accepting the 'sacking' without demur. No longer involved in the review or the case," Rajeev Dhavan posted this morning on his Facebook page.
