New Delhi:Congress Party in Rajya Sabha was confronted with huge embarrassment as senior leader and party whip Bhubaneshwar Kalita resigned over Article 370 position. 

In his letter of resignation, Assam-born Kalita accused the party of taking a incorrect stance by opposing the decision of the government to repeal Article 370. He said the political suicide is committed by the party. Senior Congress representatives in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, former home minister P Chidambaram and former Union minister Kapil Sibal, on the other side, opposed the government's decision to end the unique status of J&K.
