Re-poll in two polling stations in Tamil Nadu Saturday

Following representations from contesting candidates for more time, the Election Commission has decided to postpone the re-poll in two polling stations in Tamil Nadu to Saturday.
In a statement issued here Wednesday, the state's chief electoral officer said representations were received from candidates seeking at least 48 hours notice before re-poll is held.
"The commission has accepted the request and has decided to defer the re-poll and it will now be held on May 10 from the earlier date of May 8. Hours of poll will remain the same," the statement said. The Election Commission has ordered re-poll in two polling stations in Salem and Namakkal parliamentary constituencies.
According to the poll panel, re-poll has been ordered in the two polling stations as the electronic voting machines (EVM) showed "Factory Mode" error at the end of the poll April 24. The poll panel said for the re-poll, new EVMs would be used and indelible ink would be applied in the left middle finger of the voters.
Those who did not vote on April 24 can also vote, provided their names are in the electoral roll of the polling station.
