Strange are the ways of our politicians: When it comes to hoardings carrying their portraits wearing 240-watt smile – they have ample reasons to grin.
Ironically, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Chief Raj Thackeray has elicited his displeasure over a poster placed atop air-conditioned toilet in Kandivli (East) and ordered his brigade to remove it immediately.
Addressing the crowd at the launch of MNS MLA Pravin Darekar’s book, Thackeray quipped, “People using the toilet will get embarrassed. They’ll think I’m looking at them.” When mid-day contacted Darekar, who commissioned the toilet, said that Thackeray’s picture would be removed at the earliest.
“I’ll also pull down my photo from the banner. With the banner atop, the toilet feels more like an office.”

Echoing his party supremo’s views, an MNS worker from the area said the banner with photos of both the leaders looked nice and had a positive effect on the workers. “We felt as if Raj saheb was watching us. Now that he wants us to remove it, we’ll do it immediately but with a heavy heart,” the worker said.
