Union Minister Ramdas Athawale said on Tuesday that there is no need for a discussion on the country's reservations and said that the Narendra Modi government should not be viewed as anti-Dalit.

Athawale also praised the government of the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal stating that it has done a great job of defending the rights of Dalits and minorities.Commenting on RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat's declaration on the reservation on Sunday, the Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment said that the constitution was in place and that no one can take it away from the backward parts of society. Whatever Mohan Bhagwatji said the RSS had clarified it. I would like to assure the Dalits of this nation that there is no question of debating or rethinking the problem of the reservation.
