Following a row over seat occupancy, a traveller killed his co-passenger ruthlessly, late on Sunday evening near Maryur in Kerala, the police informed. The horrifying incident happened in a KSRTC bus that left Udumalpettu for Munnar that day.
Rajesh and Subramanian both indulged in heated argument over a seat ever since the bus left Udumalpett. This ended in fisticuff and the accused Rajesh, 29, threatening Subramanian of dire consequences got down from the bus at Pallanat stop which was closer to his house at Maryur.
Soon he returned back on his bike with a sabre hidden behind him and forcibly stopped the bus after chasing for a while. He then attacked Subramanian, a fifty nine years old employee of Mattupetty veterinary research center, from behind while the other passengers were sleeping. When the passengers woke up with Subramanian’s scream, he threatened them with weapon to keep quite.
Rajesh then dragged him out of the bus and left him there to bleed, which resulted in his death before the cops could arrive there. Rajesh too tried to commit suicide but was saved by the police and admitted to a local hospital there.
