Jodhpur, Jan 18: Bollywood actor Salman Khan was on Wednesday acquitted by a court here in an over 18-year-old Arms Act case registered against the actor for shooting black bucks in Rajasthan during a film shoot.
Chief Judicial Mesgsitrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit, after completing the hearing on January 9 in a case registered in 1999, had reserved judgement for Wednesday. The judgement comes as a major relief for the actor who was embroiled in the case for the last two decades and was even arrested for a short term in the same case.
The case pertains to the Bhisnoi tribe registering a complaint against the actor and few others for shooting blackbucks during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain. The animal is considered a sacred diety amongst the tribe and such incidents are therefore taken seriously by all local tribes.
