Jammu, Dec 1: The BSF has discovered a 80 meter long tunnel two feet high and wide running from through international border across Chmaliyal village in Jammu. The tunnel could have been used by the three terrorists to sneak into Samba day before and launch an attack on a BSF patrol here.
The BSF in its press conference stated that the terrorists could have crawled through the tunnel since there was no fence breach and after inputs of a potential infiltration attempt cmd in, BSF had put up in dept nakka posts to seal all known tunnel breaches. The BSF is also assuming that such tactical tunnels could not have been launched without the support of the engineers regiment of the Pakistani army.
“ The tunnel was found in an area where the soil is soft since farming is active there. There were no fence breach, so the tunnel was the only way they could have entered.
Weapons, grenades, pistols and other ammunitions and arms were found on body of the slam three terrorists killed by the BSF yesterday. The BSF DG KK Sharma added that there are still very grave threats persisting to the security of the country and that terrorism along with infiltration has been on an almost 100% rise by this year end. There could also be more tunnels and the matter will be raised with the Pakistani Rangers.
