New Delhi: On Friday the Supreme Court dismissed Nirbhaya case convict Vinay Sharma's appeal challenging President Ram Nath Kovind's denial of his mercy petition. The SC mentioned there was no basis for judicial review of the death row convict's rejection of the mercy petition. All content, including the medical report by Vinay Sharma, had been put before the President who applied his mind in refusing the plea of mercy, the apex court said.
