Search operations resume in Nagrota a day after terror attack on army base

Jammu, Nov 30 : A day after the horrendous attack on a field regiment garrison in Nagrota search operations have resumed in the area, in search for a suspected missing terrorist suspected to be hiding in vicinity of the area. While 6 terrorists were killed yesterday, one perhaps escaped into the forests surrounding the area.  

Yesterday’s operation saw six terrorists being shot down, three in Samba and three in Nagrota. The attack led to two officers and five japans being martyred along with a senior officer of BSF martyred in Samba. The Two officers have been identified as Major Gosavi Kunal Mannadir and Major Akshay Girish Kumar.Others killed included Havaldar Sukhraj Singh, Lance Naik Kadam Sam bhaji Yeshwantro, Grenadier Raghvendra Singh and Rifleman Azim Rai.
 
The fidayeen attack was aimed at taking control of the residential areas of the officers along with the officers mess of the regiment. In a daring and quick move a near hostage like situation was averted wherein 12 people including two women and two infants were rescued from the residential quarters. 

In the other terror attack that occurred at a BSF camp near the international border in Ramgarh sector, five security personnel, including Deputy Inspector General B.S. Kasana and Inspector Sarabjit Singh were injured while three militants who attacked the camp were killed. 

While the combing ops are on in Nagrota, the army stopped an infiltration bid near Uri yesterday evening.
