Senior cops reshuffled in Mumbai

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle in the state police hierarchy, the Maharashtra government has transferred at least 15 deputy commissioners of police (DCPs), a state government communiqué stated. This included change of guard at zonal levels and crime branch.

DCP Sandeep Karnik, who was attached to the ACB in Thane has now taken over as DCP zone II, replacing DCP Nisar Tamboli. S Jaykumar, who was SP Jalgaon, has taken charge of zone III.

DCP Ashok Dudhe has taken charge of zone IV, replacing DCP Datta Karale.

DCP PRO Mahesh Patil replaced DCP Dhananjay Kulkarni in zone V. Kulkarni has been posted in crime branch. DCP Dr V Rathod has taken charge of zone VI, from DCP Lakhmi Gautam. DCP Sangramsingh Nishandar has taken charge of zone VII.

DCP V Mishra has taken charge of zone VIII from DCP Namdeo Chavan. Chavan has been transferred to Anti-Narcotics Cell. DCP S Chaudhary, who was with crime branch, has taken charge of zone IX.
