A nation-wide shutdown called by 10 Central Trade Unions (CTUs) protesting against Governments disinvestment policies and removing of NPR, CAA, and NRC, has affected the hustle and bustle in Tripura.

Good business lives such as markets, banks, shops, transport (private and passenger) vehicles. including most banks and financial institutions remained closed. With government offices usually functioning and schools too.

No untoward incident anywhere was reported till now in the state, Police spokesman Subrata Chakraborty told IANS.

 Passengers reported in the trains and flights towards the state were few.

The BJP has also organized bike rallies and processions to maintain normalcy.

An immense security personnel was deployed all across Tripura forecasting the strike.
