New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah passed a resolution to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution, extending unique status to Jammu and Kashmir, in Rajya Sabha on Monday. The govt, which before the Rajya Sabha mentioned four bills and legislative suggestions, intends to have the resolution adopted by the end of the day. As Shah read the information of the proposition, representatives of the opposition attempted to interrupt the proceedings but did not go far. Amit Shah, who also leads the Party of Bharatiya Janata, kept reading his other proposals.

Regional parties in Jammu and Kashmir have called an aggression against the individuals attempts to scrap Article 370. The Valley communication network – mobile, fixed line and web – was shut down and satellite phones were provided to important authorities to remain in contact.
