Student commits suicide on metro track in Delhirn

A 21-year-old student committed suicide by jumping on to a metro rail track here on Tuesday, police said, adding that metro services on the line were affected briefly.

The incident was reported around 6 p.m. at Dwarka Sector 10 Metro Station in west Delhi when Nitin Tomar, a resident of west Delhi's Najafgarh area, jumped in front of the moving metro train at platform no.1.

"He received multiple injuries and his head was crushed by the train. He died on the spot," a police official said.
