A week after Bollywood actress Jiah Khan committed suicide, the Mumbai police arrested her boyfriend Suraj Pancholi, son of an actor couple, on the charge of abetment to suicide.

 

"Suraj was booked under IPC section 306 of Indian Penal Code and placed under arrest in connection with Jiah Khan suicide case," additional police commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil said, adding Suraj, 21, will be produced before court on Tuesday.

 

He was arrested on the basis of the six-page note written by the 25-year-old actress before she killed herself last Monday.The actress said in the note that she was heartbroken because of Suraj’s ‘"womanising".

 

Jiah's mother Rabia Khan today claimed that her daughter suffered "trauma and abuse" at the hands of her lover and his father. Suraj is the son of actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab. The note mentions the "deep hurt" the actress felt at having to abort her baby with Suraj and reflects the rocky relationship she had with Suraj.
