External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj asserted that the bodies of the 39 Indians killed in will be brought to India in a week's time. The minister conveyed the news during her meeting with families.

It has been reported that Minister of State for External Affairs V K Singh will go to Iraq to oversee the entire process.

The minister will reportedly meet the CMs of the four states from where the Indians belonged to take a decision on possibility of providing a government job to the next of kin.

The family members of those killed in Iraq met Punjab Congress chief and party MP Sunil Kumar Jakhar in New Delhi and he assured them of all possible assistance.
