Tata Power expands its lines

By Apurva Bhatt

Here’s some good news for Tata Power consumers. It has augmented its distribution network in the city by installing 3,700 km low-tension and high-tension cables in the city.

"TPC is committed to developing a robust network backbone for the benefit of its consumers and support the growing user base on its own network," said a company spokesperson. It also plans to increase the transmission capacity from 1,600MVA to 2,900MVA by 2020-21.

The company has already made investments of more than Rs 1,300 crore in the city's power distribution infrastructure in the last five years, a source said.

"We are committed to empowering consumers. We have been undertaking network expansion within the city," said TPC executive director (operations) Ashok Sethi.
