President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov Yesterday  said that his country is keen to develop a strong and vibrant partnership with Maharashtra in the areas of commerce, industry and cultural exchange. 
Tatarstan, one of the most economically and industrially advanced regions of Russia .
 
Tatarstan  a leader in production of crude oil, producing 33 million tones crude oil per year  also, a leader in industrial production having industries such as chemicals, petrochemicals, machine building, truck manufacturing, airplane and helicopeter manufacturing, power engineering, car tyres, fertilizers, and others.  
Tatarstan PresidentMinnikhanov  met Maharashtra governor Vidyasagar Rao and Maha chief Minister Devendra Phadnavis yesterday  and expressed keenness to sign memorandums of understandings with Maharashtra in specific areas during the forthcoming visit of Russian president Valdimir Putin to India.
 
 He said that Tatarstan wants to sign Memorandums of Understanding with Maharashtra in certain specific areas during the forthcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India.
 
The President remarked that cooperation between Tatarstan and Maharashtra would prove to be mutually beneficial.
