A 40-year-old teacher was Saturday arrested here on charges of attempting to rape a girl student, police said.

 

 Parvaiz Ahmad Dar of Bulbul Bagh area in Barzalla was arrested after a police complaint was lodged against him that he attempted to rape a student who came for private tuition, a police officer told IANS.

 

 "Forensic evidence is being collected. The accused was arrested after an FIR was lodged against him at Sadar police station of Srinagar today (Saturday)," the officer said.
