Those who support riots can never become PM, says Mamata

Attacking BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee Friday said "those who support riots" will never succeed in getting the country's top post.
"Those who support riots can never become PM. They can use money power for marketing. But people won't vote for them," Banerjee said at an election rally in Kulti of Burdwan distrist. The West Bengal chief minister said her state, and not Gujarat, is the model for India.
"We do not want riots, we want peace, we want prosperity. I love the people of Gujarat, not those who orchestrate riots," she said, campaigning for the party's candidate for Asansol Lok Sabha seat Dola Sen. Describing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as communal, she said its activity was limited to the time of the election.
"BJP comes to Bengal only when there are elections and divides people on religious lines. Where does the BJP hide during Durga Puja? We participate in all festivals, whether Durga Puja or Holi," she said.
