Two Maoist guerrillas arrested in Jharkhand
Two Maoist guerrillas were arrested and a huge cache of arms was recovered from separate places in Jharkhand Monday, police said. Prasant, sub-zonal commander of the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), was arrested from Khunti district following a tip-off.
 
 Prasant was arrested in connection with the murder of Tileshwar Sahu, a senior leader of the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), who was shot dead March 8 when he was addressing a rally in Hazaribagh district.
 
 This was the first political killing in the state after the announcement of the 2014 Lok Sabha election schedule. Sahu was to fight the election on a AJSU ticket. Police also arrested another sub-zonal commander Ankit from Palamu district Monday. 
 
 They seized 70 live cartridges of AK-47 rifles, 85 hand grenades and 70 detonators from the arrested guerrillas.Maoists are active in 18 of the 22 districts of the state.
