Leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Uma Bharti, attacked activist and author Arundhati Roy for giving fake names such as ' Ranga-Billa ' or ' Kungfu-Kutta ' when the government requests data for the National Population Register (NPR). Bharti slammed Arundhati Roy in a series of Tweets for using the names of "Ranga" and "Billa," who were criminals hanged in the seventies for the rape killing of a young girl and her uncle. She further went on to say that her comments were "anti-women" and "anti-humanity"
