The national president of the Lok Janshakti Party, Ram Vilas, Chirag Paswan, also a Union Minister, has backed the Bharat Bandh (All-India Shut-Down) on Wednesday, August 21.

 Briefly, the call for Bharat Bandh was given in protest against the Supreme Court’s verdict on reservation for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Chirag Paswan said that even today, there is untouchability based on castes in the country, and scheduled castes are still discriminated against.
