Union minister's son booked in rape case

Karthik, son of Railway Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, has been booked for sexually abusing and cheating a Kannada film actor, police said on Thursday.

"We have booked a case against Karthik after the victim filed the complaint late on Wednesday in our jurisdiction police station under sections 176 (rape) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and are investigating the charges," Deputy Police Commissioner (East) T.R. Suresh told reporters on Thursday.
