Washington, Dec 30: The incumbent government in America has announced the kicking out of 35 Russian operatives from American soil on allegations of being secret intelligence operatives who could have had a role in interfering in the US election results. While the cold war of sorts is going on over Trump’s surprise win, Russia has called Amercians losers and threatened retaliation.
The US state department issued a statement stating that Russia must bear consequences for interfering in a mercian politics so directly. A month after the election results were announced, Obama sanctioned that the GRU and FSB two leading Russian intelligence agencies in the states were involved in rigging election results.
In response to coordinated efforts of five agencies efforts Obama is seeking to expose Russia’s covert role in delegitimising the elections and has hinted at launching its own version of a counter hack into Russian affairs.
The President further stated that the response has not stopped yet and that more action will be taken in the coming days. Trump meanwhile issued a statement saying that it was time for the country to move towards resolving bigger more important issues and that if the allegations are proved right, his administration too will take adequate steps to response to Russian interference.
The kicking out of 35 operatives is being seen as one of the strongest reactions in an already volatile relation between the two countries even as Russia maintained that it will wait for the new American Government to take over and will choose to not react just now to the allegations revealed at them by the Obama administration.
