A Mumbai magistrate court granted bail to actor Vindoo Dara Singh and the Chennai Super Kings official Gurunath Meiyappan and six others who are accused in the spot-fixing and betting scandal.
They were subsequently released from the Arthur road prison yesterday evening. According to the lawyers of Vindoo and Meiyappan, they were granted conditional bail on a surety of Rs 25,000 and have to meet the crime branch at least twice a week till the probe into the spot-fixing is complete.
Others who got bail include Ramesh Vyas, Pandurang Kadam, Ashok Vyas, Pankaj Shah, Alpesh Patel and Prem Taneja.
