On Tuesday when 68 year old Rupesh Gandhi a resident of Ghatkopar went on his regular morning walk, he experienced a sudden chill, “I felt it was still winter and not March.” 

Minimum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 15 degrees celcius, which is 5 degrees below normal. It has been a roller coaster ride for  weather. In last week of February the maximum temperature touched the 38 degree Celsius mark, suddenly there were rains on February 28, March 1 and 2 in parts of the city and Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

The minimum temperature recorded in Colaba on Tuesday was 15 degrees Celsius, which was 4.8 degrees below normal and in Santa Cruz it was 19.6 degrees, which was 2 degrees below normal. According to met department officials, “Temperatures dropped on Tuesday but a gradual rise is expected as this is a transition period from one season to another. The city is presently witnessing westerly winds.”
