A man raped a woman and then killed her by throwing her into a water tank in Rajasthan Friday, police said. The criminal has been arrested.

 

 According to the police, the incident took place near Panchu town in Barmer, some 500 km from Jaipur. "The woman had come to the town to visit her family members from her in-laws house recently. She was alone when Ramdev Jat barged into her house and repeatedly raped her," said a police officer.

 

 The office said that Ramdev threw her body into a water tank and escaped.The woman's brother saw her body floating in the tank and informed the police. We have rounded up the suspect and are interrogating him," said the officer.
