WR starts online plaint services on long distance trains

By Apurva Bhatt

Long-distance WR train commuters can expect clean coaches as authorities have introduced an online and SMS complaint system on trains that originate from and terminate at Mumbai.

Passengers can register a complaint at cleanmycoach.com, or download app Observe to do so or send an SMS to call for attendant. Railways have tied up with a private firm to provide onboard housekeeping services, which includes scheduled cleaning of coaches, including lavatories, twice a day and unscheduled cleaning as per demand.

The CR had introduced the system in February and now 45 of its trains that originate from or terminate at Mumbai have it. A WR official said, "The services are now available on the eight pairs of trains, including premier trains like Rajdhani Express, August Kranti Rajdhani Express and Saurashtra Mail."

A CR official said, "The system is a hit among passengers. There are enough checks to ensure complaints are attended to." The service is available between 6am and 10pm. The OBHS has also been deputed with providing liquid Soap and toilet paper rolls in AC coaches. Passengers too have lauded the initiative.
