Abiy Ahmed Ali, the Ethiopian Prime Minister who helped end the 20-year war with Eritrea in his nation, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Abiy was honoured "for his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation, and particularly for his decisive initiative in resolving the border conflict with neighbouring Eritrea," said the jury.
