Bangladesh Revokes Ex-PM Hasina's Diplomatic Passport

Dhaka: The Ministry of Home Affairs, the highest authority in Bangladesh, has issued a notification ordering former prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her advisors, former cabinet members, and every member of the just-dissolved National Parliament to surrender their diplomatic passports.

According to the Xinhua news agency, the order issued on Thursday also applies to their family members.

The notification, signed by Ministry of Home Affairs senior information officer Faisal Hasan, describes the process for issuing general passports following the surrender of diplomatic passports.

The instructions do not outline the legal steps that will follow if a diplomatic passport is not surrendered.
