New Delhi: Jharkhand will vote for its state assembly in five phases beginning November 30 and the results will be declared on December 23, announced on Friday by the Election Commission. Voting dates for the five phases will be November 30, December 7, December 12, December 16, and December 20, Chief Electoral Commissioner Sunil Arora said at an election briefing. The election is the third state poll since the Lok Sabha elections.

Chief Minister Raghubar Dass is leading the BJP government in Jharkhand. After winning 35 seats at the 81-member house in 2014, the BJP came to power. His ally, the AJSU, won 17, taking over the NDA from the majority mark. The dominant performance of the BJP also saw it take the Congress down to only six seats.
