New Delhi: After a 45-minute meeting with Congress president Sonia Gandhi at her home in Delhi on Monday, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar said they addressed the political situation in Maharashtra, but not the formation of government with the Shiv Sena. We've got to sort out a few more things, we haven't discussed forming an alliance with any party yet, "Sharad Pawar told reporters, giving the impression a Sena-NCP-Congress alliance might not be a deal yet.

The NCP leader also rubbished speculation that he had left the door open for a tie-up with the BJP; in last month's Maharashtra elections, the BJP captured 105 seats and secured a comfortable majority with the Shiv Sena (56), who walked out of their alliance after a bitter tussle. The NCP is just two behind the Sena.
