Final decision on Maharashtra govt formation on Friday: Congress
New Delhi: Congress said on Thursday that the final decision would be taken on Friday to assist the Shiv Sena in forming a Maharashtra state. Former Maharashtra chief minister Prithviraj Chavan, speaking to a press conference, said all the talks with the NCP were over. The leaders of the Congress held a meeting at Sharad Pawar's residence in Delhi with the NCP members on Thursday to discuss the modalities of an alliance for government formation in Maharashtra with the Shiv Sena. The Congress Working Committee (CWC), earlier in the day, granted in-principle approval to the party to form government in Maharashtra along with the NCP and the Shiv Sena.
