Kerala government felicit

Thiruvananthapuram: On Wednesday, the Kerala State Government congratulated PV Sindhu, who recently became the first Indian to win the BWF World Championships. The Kerala Olympic Association President V Sunil handed over the cash reward of Rs 10 lakh to Sindhu. The 24-year-old became the first Indian to win a gold medal in the World Championships on August 25 by beating Japan's Nozomi Okuhara 21-7, 21-7 in the tournament finals held in Basel, Switzerland. The 24-year-old met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi two days after the win. He congratulated her and said that by winning a gold medal, she brought glory to the country.
