GANGTOK: Gangtok Smart City Development Limited (GSCDL) has been directed by the Smart City Mission (SCM), Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs to make at least three modules of Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) at Gangtok ‘Go Live’ by October 31.
A video conference on implementation of the ICCC at Gangtok chaired by Smart Cities Mission direction of the Union Housing and Urban Affairs ministry with all the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Smart Cities was held on July 3. The GSCDL was represented by its CEO Tarzan Subba and his team. The meeting was also attended by Master System Integrator (MSI) Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) who expressed their commitment to comply to the directive of the mission director.
One of the important aspects of this project is that the State government has to provide space measuring minimum of 3000 sq ft for housing Integrated Command Control Centre (ICCC) and Data Centre (DC).
However, the space which had been identified earlier at Old Children Park shopping complex for the said purpose has not yet been made free from encumbrances. This was reported to the ministry on which the GSCDL was directed to provide a suitable space for ICCC and DC immediately to ensure that the work is completed within the given deadline of October 31. In this regard the Gangtok Smart City CEO informed that a proposal for allotment of space for housing ICCC and DC on the top floor of the under construction Kisan Bazzar has been already submitted to the State government for consideration.
