MUMBAI: Due to heavy overnight and morning rains, added to high tide in the morning saw many areas in Mumbai flooded and King’s circle submerged in water and all movement of traffic both north and south bound were stopped due heavy flooding.  Some roads near King’s Circle ,Byculla, Dadar , Parel and Mahalaxmi were flooded and  police had to divert vehicles.

After the heavy showers, water entered the Matunga police station and the road outside it was also inundated. The police  had tough time to stop all traffic bound for North and South coming down from flyovers on either side of the rail and foot over bridges . All these vehicles were stranded as no way to return. Except  a few heavy vehicles tried to venture their way through the flood waters despite police warning , resulted in some getting stuck up near the bridge blocking all movements. Police were taking all precautions not to allow heavy vehicles together as they make them keep a safe distance of at least 50 meters as they should not get stuck up under the bridge where the water level is more than four feet height .

Even the diverted route  Bhau Dhaji Road at King’s circle was flooded and the traffic moved in snails pace as all North bound  traffic had no other route to go.
