Mumbai temples conduct Aadi Masa pooja with devotion

Mumbai: Aadi month is a divine month filled with spiritual blessings of the Goddess. The entire month is particularly sacred for invoking the blessings of the Goddess Shakti.  Mumbai temples are also buzz with activities during this month, even though devotees are not allowed in. In Mumbai, this month   is also called Shravan month. On the occasion of the first Monday of Shravan, also called as Shravan Somwar, many temples in Mumbai conducts special poojas.  At the Sri Bhuvaneswar Shiva temple which is one of the oldest temples in Matunga, the sanctum sanctorum was decorated with grains and ghee. This will be followed by, fruits, vegetables, flowers, dry fruits and Jyoti Lingas with Ice on the following Mondays.

 

At the nearby 70-year-old Sri Shankara Mattham temple, which is the only temple with the idol of Adi Shankara as main deity,  Aadi masa Pooja being conducted for Devi Shakthi throughout the month and the idol of Lord Shiva, Shiva Linga, being decorated with Golden Kavach, This temple also has the idols of  Ganapathy, Hanuman, Surya, Maha Vishnu, Dhakshinamoorthy and Lord Muruga. Bhagavathi Seva which is a unique and powerful Kerala-style Pooja and Varalaksmi pooja will also be held during the period. It is believed Goddess Shakthi provide the devotees with special blessings and the ability to create good things in their life.

 

Another temple Sri South Indian Bhajana Samajam conducts Aadimasa pooja for Devi Rajarajeswari , with full decorations.
