AIADMK holds medical camp

Celebrating former party chief and chief minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalitha’s birthday, the All India Anna Dravida Kazhagam (AIADMK) distributed free food and held a medical camp for the public. Tamil Nadu’s deputy chief minister and AIADMK coordinator O. Panneerselvam and present chief minister K. Palaniswami handed over Rs. 2 lakh each as financial assistance to over 14 party men who expired while performing duties assigned by AIADMK. Rs. 1 lakh each was given to 109 members of AIADMK labour union.

Doctors at the medical camp checked patients’ heart, skin, joint ailments, blood pressure, ECG and diabetes and also gave away medicines for the needy. A cake weighing about 72 kilograms was cut and distributed at the party office marking late Jayalalitha’s 72nd birthday. Senior party leaders attended the function.

The former chief minister had expired at a Chennai hospital on December 5, 2016.
